How to get into the Czech Republic and Brno
The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union. The participants from particular countries are required to have valid visa. Please take your passport as a personal identification document even when being an EU citizen.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
By plane
- International Airport Brno Tuřany has direct connections to London/Stansted (UK), Munich (Germany) and Prague (Czech Republic).
- To reach the conference venue, several options can be choosed:
- By public transport: Bus line No. 76 to Brno main railway station (terminus), then change to tram line No. 13 or 12 (direction "Technologický park") and directly to the stop "Skácelova", then change to bus line No. 53 (direction "Technologický park") and directly to the stop "Technická".
The travel time is about 55 minutes. For one journey you need the 3-zones ticket valid for 90 minutes. It costs 27 CZK (35 CZK from the driver). - By taxi: A taxi station is close to the Terminal. The journey to the meeting venue takes cca 30 minutes and fare can be up to 400 CZK (16 €). CITY TAXI phone: +420 542 321 321.

By train
- The main railway station is in the centre of the city (as indicated on the map). Many long-distance express trains stop at the Brno main station (from Vienna, Hamburg and Berlin, Budapest and Bratislava). - To reach the BUT from the main station, you can use both the public transport (tram line No.12 or 13 up to the stop "Skácelova", then change to bus line No. 53 to the stop "Technická" aprox. it takes 20 - 35min. (the ticket is 22 CZK) or taxi parking right in front of the station.
By long-distance buses

- Bus lines mainly stop/end at the central bus station named "Zvonařka", which is also located in the centre of the city and is accessible by city public transport - tram line No. 12, direction "Technologický park" up to the stop "Skácelova", then change to bus line No. 53 directly to teh stop "Technická".
Buses from capital city Prague are going to the Grand Hotel bus station which is located near by the main railway station. To reach the BUT from the main station, you can use both the public transport (tram line No.12 or 13 up to the stop "Skácelova", then change to bus line No. 53 to the stop "Technická" aprox. it takes 20 - 35min. (the ticket is 22 CZK) or taxi parking right in front of the station.
By car
- GPS: 49°13'27.767"N, 16°34'37.228"E
- Motorway D1 (E50, E65) Prague-Brno, motorway D2 (E65) Brno-Bratislava (SK), main road E461 Brno-Vienna (A) or E462/E75 Brno-Warzsawa (PL). Exit from D1 at "Brno západ", 190 km, at "Brno východ", 203 km. Follow the direction "Svitavy" to the north, exit "Královo pole". From exit "Královo Pole" turn to the left on the street "Purkyňova" on first crossroad turn to the left on the street "Podnikatelská" and hold on the direction to street "Technická".
ACCOMODATION
The conference does not provide accommodation for participants. For further information please visit the homepages of the hotels or contact us. The early hotel reservation is strongly recommended. We recommended the following hotels: Hotel Palacký, Hotel Imos, Hotel Slovan, Hotel Continental, Hotel Bobycentrum, Hotel Voroněž. Other hotels can be found using internet.
Currency
The Czech currency is Czech Crown (CZK, local abbrev. Kč), one CZK divides into 100 hellers. Czech Crown is fully convertible to EUR, USD, CHF, JPY and many other currencies. In hotels, major restaurants and shops, credit cards (e.g. Visa, MasterCard, AmEx etc.) or EUR are accepted as indicated at the entrances. The Czech currency can be obtained from ATP using your credit or debit cards as well as in many exchange offices in the town, or in banks elsewhere.
Climate
Brno is located in the Central Europe and both Atlantic and continental circulation influence the weather. In September, based on current weather forecast daytime temperatures should be 10 – 20 °C.
